I came really, really close to not going, but I AM going and I am going to have a great time!
My daddy was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer the end of April and after completing chemo, feeling better, feeling worse, a couple of hospitalizations later he was placed on hospice in August. I've spent a great deal of the summer driving back and forth the 3-1/2 hour drive (each way) a couple of times a week to help out my mom. This week he is pretty stable, no worse and no better, so I've decided to take the trip to St. George for Founder's Circle, a retreat I earned with Stampin' Up! for being in the top 100 demonstrators. This is the third year I've earned this honor. Yay!
I'm excited and looking forward to seeing so many of my Stampin' Friends again!
This is the lovely travel planner they send. All the goodies you need from the agenda to the suitcase tags...oh and the flight itinerary too. *Ü*
One of the evenings we have a big pajama party and a swap. We had to make 120 swaps this year. I had mine all done and packed just in case I had to overnight them if I didn't go.
I should always do that for stampin' events...it's really much nicer than my usual night before planning!
Cardstock: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, I Am Me Designer Series Paper
Stamp Set: Perfect Blend, Lots of Thanks, Pennant Parade
Accessories: Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Coastal Cabana Ribbon, Own Builder Punch (for the heart)
Halloween Bash Class kits and tutorial are still available. Please see this posting for ordering information, HERE.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. I went down the same road with my mom (she fought pancreatic cancer for 3 1/2 years), so I know what you are going through. You are in my prayers. Have a wonderful time at Founders Circle...buy yourself some "dancing shoes" and have fun!

Have a great time in St. George! You know that you need this time to relax and refresh yourself, because when you get back you will be needed again. Take it from me, you need to disconnect from what's going on back home just for a day or two. Your body and mind and soul will thank you!

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your Dad, Becky. I read your blog daily. Keep my daughter, Marti, out of trouble at FC please!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your Father Becky ~ it is difficult. My Mother was diagnosed (on my birthday) in 2011. It's a long hard road but I was fortunate that she lived with me for years. Please take care of yourself Becky - and ENJOY your trip. Your Father (as well as your whole family) are in my prayers.
