I had the most fun making this garland. I've never really hand sewn anything, so with the help of a You Tube video (where would we be without You Tube?!), I whipped these bears out!
I used wool felt for the bears and the flowers and embroidery floss to sew them.
The flowers are made from an assortment of dies I've collected through the years, I'm not even sure any of them are still current.
Bear Hugs is an Essentials By Ellen Die.
This die set cuts out bear complete with stitching holes, so you easily create cute felt ornaments or a stuffed animal. This bear's arms are meant to hold small items, so the arms only attach on the sides. The gift also includes stitching holes, so you can add ribbon to your present.
Approximate measurements:
bear 2-3/4 X 5
gift 1-1/8 X 1-1/8
heart 1-1/4 X 1-1/4
I am thinking of adding this to my Items for Sale page and taking special orders. Would this be something you might be interested in?
I absolutely would be interested in these as a special order. Completely adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteI have loved many of the projects you've made over the years, but this one is over the top amazing!! I would be interested in these as a special order for sure. So so so cute!! About how long is the garland?
ReplyDeleteHi Deepa, It is about 43" long.
DeleteThis is beautiful! I've followed Julie Ebersole since her Impress days -- this die is so adorable and I love your project. You've never "really sewn anything by hand"? You are talented!
