Ribbon Weaving

Have you ever set out to try something new and not really had a plan as to how you will finish it? Today I decided I wanted to try Kristina's ribbon weaving seen here http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/make-a-card-monday/ scroll down to the April 14th posting. It is very cool and now that I've done it once I have a lot of ideas...but not until I looked at this card all afternoon saying to myself...what was I thinking? That's a lot of blue Becky! For those of you who know me, you know I never choose blue to just play with, it's not my color. Maybe if this weren't blue I would like it more. Tomorrow I think I will try it with ...say, Rose Red!!!!!! Now there is a color I can play with!
Cardstocks: Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Night of Navy
Stamps: Pun Fun, Stem Sayings, Aida Cloth
Accessories: Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain, 1000+ Stampin' Dimensionals at least, Navy Ribbon, Light Blue Gingham Ribbon.
Woven Square is 2 5/8" x 2 5/8"
The good news is that it smashes down very flat and easily could be mailed with a regular stamp!

Bloomin' Beautiful

A couple of quick cards using the new Bloomin' Beautiful set in the mini catalog. Left, Pretty in Pink Designer Paper on Regal Rose cardstock. Right, is Porcelain Prints Designer Paper with River Rock cardstock. There are Stickles in the flower centers, super sparkly!!

3 x 3 Envelope Purse

Sometimes I get so excited with myself! I thought it would be fun to make a mini version of Jan Tink's Carousel Notes purse out of 3 x 3 envelopes. It was so quick and easy and so cute if I do say so myself ;o)
I haven't decorated the pages yet because I haven't decided on what pictures I will use. The insert pages are made with the Marvy scallop punch and the 2 1/2" circle punch (not Stampin' Up!, gasp!!) . Colors are Brocade Blue, Always Artichoke and River Rock. Designer Paper is Le Jardin.

Carousel Purse Scrapbook

Here is my version of Jan Tink's Carousel Purse. You can view hers here with a tutorial on how to create this. http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.com/stamps_paper_scissors/tutorials/index.html
I made this for my friend who only sees things in black and white...not really, she just loves the colors. I had to add a little River Rock because it just needed color!!! This was surprisingly easy to make and would make a fantastic Mother's Day gift complete with pictures.
Jan's purse is made with the new Carousel Notes and Envelopes from the mini catalog. I actually made mine with Stampin' Up!'s square white envelopes, so it is a little smaller. Even with the adjustments in size it was very simple to modify.

Canned Birthday Gift

The hinged tin contains 4 of the cards that are shown and a gift card. I'll put it all in the decorated can and seal it closed for a fun gift!
The can contained Fruit Cocktail. You cut the bottom open using a safety can opener, clean and dry. Insert the contents then seal the bottom closed with Crystal Effects. The receipent has to open the can using the pop top! It's such a fun way to present a gift.

Wasabi Pocket Card

Pocket card uses Wild Wasabi cardstock, Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper and Live Your Dream stamp set.

Family

I have this wonderful friend in Montana that I met through my blog. We have become great friends and enjoy stamping things for each other and trading ideas, etc. Today in my mailbox was this fabulous work of art created by her. She asked for pictures of my family but I would have never dreamed she had this in mind! Isn't it cool? It is 10 times prettier in real life, it has this wonderful texture.

Her blog is www.kimscreativeniche.blogspot.com if you would like to check her out (that doesn't sound right, does it?). She specializes in creating gifts and custom favors for others. Well... this was a custom gift for sure! Thank you Kim!!

Carousel Notes

This is one of the new Carousel Notes from the current Mini Catalog. I used the Coluzzel to cut the Afternoon Tea Designer Paper and Chocolate Chip mats. I then folded the Whisper White cardstock in half and used the Coluzzel again to cut both thicknesses, except I left the top edge attached so it would open like a card. I used the 1/8" hole punch for dots around the edge.

The stamp set is Bloomin' Beautiful also from the current Mini Catalog. This set is gorgeous...you'll be seeing a few more from this one!!
