Afternoon Tea Farewell Projects

Ok, I'm pretty sure this is it. Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper and I are finished. I made my final farewell projects this week and I am ready for it to retire. I think I've made the most of this mini catalog, between the Live Your Dream and Bloomin' Beautiful stamp sets and the Afternoon Tea DSP! I'm ready for a change...come on new catalog!!!
The card above is a double pocket card. The tutorial is on the Resources page at SCS.
Edited to add: Below is a mini scrapbook made from one sheet of 12x12 paper. The pattern for the book can be found here, http://www.barbstamps.com/my_weblog/2008/05/tutorial-mini-p.html. The pages use the Live Your Dream stamp set and various punches, sorry, no pattern. However, when the new catalog comes out, I will choose a new designer series paper and make a tutorial with pictures and dimensions as I've had so many e-mails...who knew???
That was a fun project! I'd make more if I had some paper that wasn't going to be discontinued very soon! Remember the discontinued accessory list comes out July 21st. We will know what papers, ribbons, and accessories will NOT be in the new catalog. I'll have it posted, if I am not crying too hard from loosing any favorites.

Ever had a day like this?

I started my day quite calmly and quietly in my hidey-hole making a hostess gift for tonight's party. I died one of the large flowers from the Pretties Kit in Groovy Guava, let it dry and proceeded to stamp on it with the Friend By Definition stamp set and the Chocolate Chip pad. Instead of turning the stamp over, somehow I turned the flower over...and all the words are now firmly place in ink BACKWARDS!!!!! Since my hostess is a school teacher, I thought I better not try to use it on her gift! I started over by stamping Groovy Guava on a regular white Pretties flower with much more success. Then right behind my head I heard this loud crash...and dammit if my shelf didn't break and everything fell off! I thought for a minute it was a California earthquake flashback! Missing from this picture are the 500 brads I had to pick up under the pile and about 100 binder rings and tons of business cards and thumbtacks, etc., etc.

Alison's Party

Lot's of fun in store for Alison Bear's party Thursday night!
I will be demonstrating a birthday card, a 3D project focusing on the eScape Promotion, a 'little more detailed' inside-pocket card and our Make & Take project is a gift card holder! Plus each of her friends get a darling party favor.
Alison gets to keep these cards and she gets a very special handmade Hostess gift from me for having a party, in addition to all the wonderful benefits Stampin' Up! offers.
I'm looking forward to meeting your friends Alison!

Removing Decor Elements Posting

Good Morning Stampers,
I have removed my Decor Elements posting until it is introduced to customers July 1st. I am also encouraging other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators to remove Decor Elements postings from their blogs as I recently found out it is against company policy to post anything that is not already posted on the Customer portion of the Stampin' Up! website. Sometimes we just get too excited about upcoming promotions ;o)
Stay tuned for this SUPER exciting addition to the Stampin' Up! line available July 1st.

Introducing...Decor Elements by Stampin' Up!

Removed until July 1st.

We Have A New Baby!

Just kidding! WE don't have a new baby, John & Brenda have a new baby. These are a couple of baby announcements designs for baby Dimitri.
Top photo uses the newly discontinued set, Year After Year. I stamped an additional elephant in Bashful Blue and used a new pencil eraser to make the dots, then layered it on top. The bottom photo uses Wild About You.

Waaaaaa!...the retired list posted today

Get em' before they are gone!
Contact me at yasou@cableone.net to order your retired sets at 10% off until June 29th.
This offer is only good through Becky Roberts, Stampin' up! Demonstrator

Happy Fathers Day!

I thought George would like a couple of new pictures for his office since he only has the professional photos and not any casual photos, but after working on this I think I want to keep it for me ;o) Especially since Stamp of Authenticity is being discontinued!! What will I do without it... and Office Accoutrement and Cutie Pie paper?
Are you tired of me whining about Cutie Pie paper yet?
You can view the Stampin' Up! retiring stamp set list, just released today here:
http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/Retired_Lists_0608_US_N.pdf

Back to the coaster project. Coasters are from Eclectic Paperie at http://www.eclecticpaperie.com/alter-this.html. They are sold in 10 packs for .89. I also used LeJardin designer series paper, Brocade Blue, River Rock and Always Artichoke cardstocks, Stamp of Authenticity, Artichoke grosgrain ribbon, Rich Regal brads, a few punches, the ever so cool paper shredder in the Cutter Kit and Crystal Effects inside the 'genuine article' circle. It's held together with 2 oval punched pieces of cardstock. I folded them in half and attached them to the back for hinges.

Mom's 'Trial Offer' Package

I was talking to my mom this week telling her I was headed to the post office to mail some Stampin' Up! stuff and she started complaining because I haven't sent her a handmade card in years. If you will remember one of my earlier posts where I explained to you our conversation from about a year after we moved to CA, (which incidentaly is when I started stamping), where she said to me on the phone, "Honey, I am so sorry things are so tight for you in CA that you have to make your own cards". ... Obviously she just didn't 'get it'...gasp! But after earning a couple cruises and attending a few conventions, she has learned that this IS a business, so I talk to her about it often just because it bores her (some kids never grow up)! I reminded her that she doesn't like handmade cards and of our conversation many years ago. She asked me to give her another chance, that maybe she will appreciate it now that she knows this is what I do. So here is her trial package...6 years later.
6/19/08 Edited to add: Mom received the package and called to say she liked the items and was going to show them to her friends. Then said, 'I'll give them to your sister when I'm done because I really don't know what I'm suppose to do with all this'. Looks like it will be another 6 years before I give her another try ;o) Good thing I love her anyway!

An Afternoon Tea ensemble. Post It note key chain, wrapped large Dark Chocolate Hershey bar, business card pouch, candy party favor, pouch holding 3 cards and envelopes, small box and a double pocket card.

Close up of the pouch. It's a take on something Andrea Walford did at Easter. I started with a 6" circle, placed the envelopes in the middle and folded it to the center and then up. Then I unfolded it and scored it.
Close up of the Double Pocket Card and pouch. Pocket card is a tutorial on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/, super easy and fun! The pouch pattern is in the Stampin' Up! demonstrator pattern library. Being a demonstrator has its' perks :) It perfectly holds a business card or gift card...Mom gets a business card until she tells me she loves Stampin' Up! handmade gifts!!!!! :

I've Committed Rubah-dultrey!

I did it! For the first time, I purchased and used a stamp that was not Stampin' Up!...gasp! I had to have this Lined Paper background stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and I love it!!!! To ease the guilt, I used the Priceless stamp set from Stampin' Up! with it ;o) These are card front only note cards and envelopes for teacher gifts. The portfolio is Certainly Celery cardstock, cut 8 1/2" x 1o". Score in half, turn and score at 6" for the inside pockets.

Apple Clip Art Card

Working on a few teacher gifts for tomorrow. The apple card is similar to the one done by 'hah' on splitcoast. I searched for apple clipart, enlarged it and cut it out on Real Red cardstock. Being the only person I know who does not own any Summer Picnic designer series paper, I had to make my own using Whisper White cardstock and Little Pieces stamp set. The worm is from Bugs & Kisses.
