Blogging Friend Gifts

I thought It would be fun to have a little hand out for some of my blogging friends I can't wait to meet while at convention! So I ordered personalized M&M's and they are soooo cute!

I used some little bottles I had left order from another project and added labels to the front, filled them with M&M's and added a ribbon and daisy.
Isn't that fun!?

Traveling Trio Tutorial Available for Sale

Welcome Aboard the Catty Cruise!

Welcome aboard the maiden voyage of the Catty Cruise! You just sailed in from Angie Tieman's amazing blog, Schwoo!...how about those creations! Awesome, aye??

Grab a deck chair. There are still 11 more of the most incredible stampers to follow on this amazing cruise through the new Stampin' Up! catalog. You'll get the next port by clicking on the port hole at the end of this post. But, if we somehow you fall overboard along the way, you can always rejoin us by visiting our home port, Catty Cruise Line.

Today I'm showcasing the fabulous Designer Series Paper, The Write Stuff.
The Write Stuff Specialty packet contains textured cover weight die-cuts and designer series patterned papers matching Ruby Red, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry & Old Olive cardstocks.

I created a set of 3 stacking suitcases, 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" standard size cards, 3" x 3" note size cards and decorative paper clips all showcasing the beautiful papers and die-cuts in The Write Stuff.

Traveling Trio

I paired together Flower Fancy and Smarty Pants with the cardstock die-cuts for the full size cards.

3x3 note cards use Happy Birthday words from the Viola stamp set and the Spiral Punch to carry on the office theme.

A bottom suitcase organizes all your creations and the top suitcase serves as a carrying case for full size cards.

Would you like to make one of these?
Starting Sunday you can purchase the 37 page pattern and instruction tutorial for $3.95!!

I'll have the PayPal button all linked up and ready to go for you Sunday morning...but now it's time to carry on the maiden voyage of the Catty Cruise by visiting the lovely Brooke Stockman at Designs by Brooke as she showcases the brand new Circle Circus Stamp Set! You have to see this!!

Animal Stories Milk Carton Container

I knew the minute I saw the new Animal Stories stamp set & Tall Tales DSP they would make a darling Milk Carton Container. I couldn't wait to get it finished!

I used the same Milk Carton Container Tutorial available on the sidebar that is shown using the Holiday Lineup Christmas set. The tutorial is $3.95 and is e-mailed directly to your inbox. If interested, you can order it here.
I covered a few Hershey Nuggets with the Tall Tales DSP to stuff inside of the boxes.

Instead of tearing open the top of the box to get to the candy, I made a trap door for the bottom!

Paper Bag Purse

Square Fire Rhinestone Brads regularly priced at $10.95, this week only $6.95!! Place your order HERE

______________

I've had several requests asking for how to make the paper bag purse I did for this posting. It could not be more simple ;o)

All brown paper bags are a different size. Even lunch bags aren't a standard size, every brand is slightly different. The bags I used for this project are 5" wide, slightly smaller than a standard lunch bag.
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, So Saffron, Rose Red, Old Olive
Stamp Set: Animal Stories
Accessories: Tall Tales DSP, Sizzlets Little Leaves die-cut, Big Shot, Rectangle Punch, Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Velcro Circles, Brown Paper Bag

Cut brown paper bag to 4-1/4" tall. I choose this height because I work with 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock and this means I can get 4 out of one sheet. You can cut the bag to any height you want.

Front panel: Chocolate Chip cardstock 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" , layering DSP is 4" x 5-1/4".

Back panel: Chocolate Chip cardstock 5-1/2" x 6-1/4", scored at 4-1/4". Layering DSP is 4" x 5-1/4" AND 5-1/4" x 1-3/4" .

Use the rectangle punch to punch holes for the handles. Insert the ribbon and add adhesive underneath the pieces to hold them to the cardstock.
Adhesive the paper bag to the front piece then fold the bottom of the paper bag down. Put adhesive on the bag not the cardstock and line up the cardstock pieces front to back.
Don't line up the bag because they are not all straight, just line up the cardstocks.

Side view after the bag is opened.

Close with a Velcro self adhesive circle and embellish as desired.

I've been trying out a couple different looks this week using the Tall Tales DSP. I saw a layout like this on Amy Rohl's blog and decided to give it a whirl.

Stamp Set: Cheap Talk
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers Old Olive & Chocolate Chip, 1/4" Old Olive and 5/8" Brocade Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Top Note Die-Cut, Big Shot, Uni Ball White Gel Pen

So Saffron Bird is rock n' rolled in Summer Sun ink, Ballet Blue bird is rock n' rolled in Brilliant blue ink.
