Letters From Camp

Another little backpack all decked out for a trip to camp. This one includes 2 packs for s'mores and 4 note cards and envelopes for letters home. It just happens to fit on my Stampin' Up! bear from last years convention.

This is the same backpack as the Flirtatious one I posted HERE.

Under The Stars stamp set and Marina Mist & Real Red cardstock with the new Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper. The lined paper is in this pack of DSP - so fun!

Yes, this will be a tutorial! It will include both of the backpack ensembles I've shown you this week. It will be available July 1st, the same day the new catalog goes live and all the papers are available.

Flirtatious Fun Backpack & Flower Cards

I've been using the new Flirtatious Designer Series Paper coming in the new catalog July 1st. I love the pinks in the package and LOVE that it has matching fabric!

I made a backpack that holds regular size (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") cards with envelopes.

I used the Flirtatious fabric with the Fun Flowers die-cut and Big Shot and a little bit of hot pink tulle to make the flowers, then turned them into pins before attaching them to the card.

Now it's a card and a gift and cute packaging!

Saying Goodbye To Pun Fun

I've had a great time with this stamp set, but it's time to say goodbye. Here is a set of flower cards I did last year using the Flower Folds die-cut.

Stamp the images from Pun Fun then cut them out with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch.

Fold your cardstock in half and put the fold just inside one of the petals of the flower so it does not cut it in half. This size fits perfectly into out 3x3 envelopes.

Such a fun little gift!

Stamp Set: Under the Stars

Accessories: Hemp Twine, various Stampin' Write Markers, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Marina Mist & Read Red Satin Ribbon. Clear boxes are from clearbags.com and are about 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1".

Stamp Set: Sunny Fun

Dorothy's Slippers

Benjamin's freshman Honors English teacher asked him to make a Wizard of Oz cake for her daughters surprise birthday party. Naturally he was so excited he said yes before we checked to see if there were any Wizard of Oz cake stuff out there. I spent the better part of the week searching for props for the cake and finally decided to make my own. Maybe it's Idaho, I don't know, but we couldn't find anything that would work.

I found these clear plastic high heels that are actually wedding favors, that I was pretty sure would work for Dorothy's shoes. I bought red spray paint and gave them a couple coats.

Ta-da!

I tied SU! red grosgrain ribbon bows and glued them on. Then used Mod Podge and Stampin' Up! red glitter to bring them to life.

Benjamin made the royal icing flowers and everything else for the cake. Took him about 6 hours to bake, cover with fondant and decorate it all.

Kind of a weird angle, but here is the finished cake.

Pretty darn good for 15 years old!!

Tres Chic For Tres Teachers!

The last of the teachers gifts, for the ladies. Together, the boys only have 3 lady teachers! These are from the Tres Chic Handbag tutorial available HERE, and are gift card size. They are pretty little and super quick and easy to make.

I haven't showed my baker Benjamin much, he's been busy with school. This weekend he did make a couple of fruit pizzas for our neighborhood BBQ. Thursday he has to make a Wizard of Oz cake for a surprise birthday party. I'll show you those pictures after. With Drivers Ed starting Monday , I'm not sure he will take on many cakes this summer. We will see.We have a fireman in our neighborhood, so his friends came by the BBQ and showed the fire engine off to the kids. They are so kind to let them in the truck and show them around. They brought all the kids fire hats and goodie bags.
Of course we had to get a bounce house! Luckily, ours didn't fly away like the ones we've been seeing on the news lately.
Who says bounce houses are for the kids? All the parents had a great time! Note to self...alcohol + jumping =blaaah! Thanks Scott!

Hershey Bar Gift Holders

We're on our last week of school here in Boise. I can't wait for it to be done...we all need a break from the routine! I love having my kids home although my stamping time suffers a bit. *Ü*

Next week my Benjamin starts drivers training. Aren't we supposed to feel better with each growth milestone in our kids? I still haven't wrapped my head around this one! Time is just flying by much too fast for me!

I've been working on a few year end teacher gifts. Both boys wanted to give some of their teachers Target gift cards...but who wants to receive just an envelope?? So we made pouches with Hershey bars and gift cards. Some of the lady teachers are getting little purses and I'll post those in a couple days.

Cardstock: Real Red, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Celebrations Designer Series Paper

Stamp Set: Thank You Kindly

Accessories: Owl Punch, 1-/8" Circle Punch,. Scallop Circle Punch , Real Red, Whisper White and Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon

I don't have a pattern for this. I started with a cardstock of about 6-1/2" x 7" and basically rolled and scored around the Hershey bar. When I figured out which side was the front, I cut the sides of the top opening to fold down a flap. Then I made a little pocket for the front which is just a piece the same width cardstock folded in half, then the flap folded down.
