Tres Chic Handbags One Day Delay

I'm so sorry to have to tell you that the release of this tutorial will be delayed by one day. We've been on vacation all last week, getting in late Monday night and had great intentions of getting it all done...but we were having a little too much fun!

Please join me Thursday, July 1st for the release of the Tres Chic Handbags tutorial!
________
This is one of the reasons for the delay. While on our way to San Francisco, we stopped in Roseville (where we used to live) to visit as any friends we could in a short amount of time and I held a downline meeting for my California girls. I was so happy to see everyone and man, did we ever have a fun evening!

This project can be found here.

I used the new Greenhouse Gala DSP to make each one a little gift and used the matching DSP for their project. We made one of the purses in the new Tres Chic Handbags tutorial. Super easy!!! We made these in less than an hour and that was with sharing all the supplies!

We stamped in the breakfast area of the lobby and man, did we ever draw a crowd. It was a great opportunity to pick up some customers! Ü

Emily, Colleen, Penny, me, Cyndi, Mandee and Jennifer
See you tomorrow 7/1 for the release of the NEW Tres Chic Tutorial!!

The L.A.M.B. Inspired Handbag

I'm not familiar with L.A.M.B. bags but sure love the shape of this one! By far my favorite of the three styles, this little purse is screaming for a variety of new Designer Series paper prints! Come on July 1st so I can order some more paper!!!

Don't you just love the pearl clasp on this bag?? It looks great with the Newsprint Designer Series Paper...see I told you I would find something 'me' to do with this new paper!

Have you had enough sneak peeks yet?? Are you ready to make a few for yourself? Ok...a couple more photos first and you can have your own copy of Tres Chic Handbags!

Brighton Inspired Handbags

Today's sneak peek features the Brighton inspired handbag. I saw this red one on line and loved the shape of it!

Pretty darling recreated in the new Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper too! Remember these are little, perfect party favor or gift card size. They also hold 3x3 notes and envelopes!
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks of the new Tres Chic Handbag tutorial coming soon!

Dooney & Bourke Inspired Bags

I've been wanting to design a new purse pattern for a while now and couldn't narrow it down to one, so my latest, soon-to-be-released tutorial is a set of three handbags called Tres Chic Handbags! For the next few days I'll show you several photos of what's to come.
Today is the Dooney & Bourke inspired handbag.

Each of these handbags can be made on a 8-1/2" x 11 piece of cardstock, so folding that in half makes each one about 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" give or take a little. Perfect gift card size, excellent for packaging jewelry, great for party favors (or convention gifts!)...I can't wait to show you more!!
Stay tuned this week for more sneak peek previews...
The sunglasses featured in this photo are not part of the tutorial. You can purchase the pattern from Lorri Heiling HERE.

Purse-onally Pefect Purse in Greenhouse Gala

It's my turn to make another purse! I've been receiving lots of fabulous photos, many that I've shared with all of you, but I decided I wanted to make a purse myself with the NEW Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper (DSP). I used the NEW Daffodil Delight cardstock for the base and covered it with the DSP. This yellow is so beautiful!!! It's brighter than So Saffron but not as shocking as YoYo Yellow or Summer Sun. It's just the perfect soft, buttery yellow.
My Stamp Clubs will be making the purse and 4 cards at our July meeting and this is the card they will make 4 of. We will use all the different papers from this Greenhouse Gala package.Cardstock: Delightful Daffodil
Stamp Set: Friends Never Fade & Full of Life
Accessories: Real Red Satin Ribbon, Playground Buttons (soon to be discontinued)

Looky what I have! My old Canon Power Shot has been poopin' out for months so I decided to bite the bullet and get a new one. I bought pink this time so those boys will leave MY camera alone. We will see how that works :) I also have a red mini laptop with flowers all over it so the boys would leave my laptop alone... and I still have to stand in line to use it!

Isn't this darling? It's a little tiny pin cushion made with felt and the Big Shot Scallop die-cut. My BFF has the tutorial for sale on her blog if you want to make one, complete with flip flop and all! These are great little gifts!! I hope she makes one for me. Ü

Newsprint Box

The kids have been out of school for a week now and we're all trying to find our summer routines. So far, no one is bored but I'm sure that will change very quickly! We've got a few travel plans this summer and a lot of kid stuff going on, so unfortunately my blog will suffer a bit; but I do plan to post every other day or so.
__
I've spent the past 2 weeks taking out the old and putting in the new Stampin' Up! products I preordered...and making room for the huge order I'll accidentally place on July 1st when the catalog goes live! I'm sure I won't mean to order that much and it will be as accident. It's my story...
OH MAGOSH, the new catalog is full of cool new stamp sets and accessories and accessories, and accessories and finally some storage options and more accessories! The Color Renovation is absolutely fantastic throughout the entire catalog and I wish I could share it with you right now! The catalog itself is beautiful with gorgeous samples and displays. Come on July 1st!!!!!
__
Speaking of the new catalog, only 13 days left to sign up to be a demonstrator for $99!!! Just in time to have a discount on all the things you will want from the new catalog! The Mini Starter Kit special is only available through June 30th so don't hesitate too long! :)
This is a great time to 'try' Stampin' Up! If you have ever thought about it but were too nervous to invest a couple hundred dollars, then this one is for you! Plus you get a discount on everything you want from the new Idea Book & Catalog!! You get a beautiful monthly magazine called Stampin' Success, access to Stampin' Connections where demonstrators post hundreds of projects a day, exclusive on line training, and so much more! I'd love to have you join my Inking Everything Team!
It's as easy as this...go to my my
Demonstrator Website and click Start Your Own Business then click on Join Now. The password is yousignupnow. E-mail me if you have any questions at yasou@cableone.net.
__
One of the two preorder Designer Series Papers we were allowed to order is called Newsprint. While I was cleaning out, I found some cut papers left over from a class for this little box so I tried the new DSP. I would not say this is my favorite look but it's different. I'll have to keep at it until I find something more 'me' to do with the Newsprint paper.

The box is one of the 3 boxes featured on the 3rd day in my 12 Days of Christmas 2009 edition tutorial and can be ordered HERE.

Woodgrain Flowers

Not at all what I was going for, but not too bad either.

I wanted to use the new Crumb Cake cardstock (formerly known as Kraft) with the new Crumb Cake pad and Woodgrain background stamp, but when I inked up all the cards, I really didn't have anything to go with them. So I ran them through the Big Shot and the XL Flower Folds die-cut and made flower cards.
I used my new Color Coach to see what colors coordinate with Crumb Cake and it showed Not Quite Navy and Riding Hood Red. So I used those colors and the new 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch with the Cheap Talk Stamp Set.

Coffee House Reception

Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of helping a good friend prepare for her daughters wedding reception. It was so fun to add input but not be in charge for a change. Ü
She reserved Rembrandt's Coffee House for the evening. Here are the outside decorations.

I set up the candy buffet after she shopped for color coordinated candies. With the cakes out.
She bought giant paper lanterns for the ceiling.

And made paper flowers from tissue paper to hang with them. We covered the dessert counter so no one would think they could buy anything.
Pretty fun, huh??

I Did It...well actually my son did it!

Here is the flip flop pattern!
Click on the image and print.
It prints an 8-1/2" x 11" size, so do it on computer paper then cut them out and trace them on cardstock. Otherwise it wastes a whole piece of cardstock. Ü

Easel Topper Instructions

I've had a few requests for the dimensions of the easel topper for the Matchbook die-cut box. I'm happy to share, but I want you to know I did not create this idea. I've seen it many, many times in blogland. These are the dimensions I've found work best for what I wanted it to do.

Cut cardstock to 2" x 7-7/8". Score at 2-5/8", 3-5/8", 5-1/4. Fold on score lines as shown above.
Add Sticky Strip to the part that folds back so it stays folded closed. Then add Sticky Strip to the part that attaches to the the top of the box itself. You need to add some kind of embellishment, either a stamped image on a Stampin' Dimensional or a brad or something similar that the easel part can brace up against in order to stand up.
It will lay pretty flat if you tie a ribbon around it.
Here is a close up of the flip flop card I did for stamp club this month. I used the Lattice Embossing Folder to make the texture on the flip flops. Yes, I have the pattern and I am happy to share it if someone can send me an e-mail (yasou@cableone.net) and let me know how to upload the pattern so you click on it and can print it actual size. I've tried a couple times and it comes out huge! Maybe it's just Blogger on that particular day???

June Stamp Clubs

The 5th grade Celebration was a huge success! They loved it and boy were they tired!!! I'm continuing to receive e-mails requesting the details of the activities and I will get those all out to you this weekend by e-mail, NOT on my blog. Thank you for your interest.
_____
I'm ready for the June Stamp Clubs! We're going to be using some of the Last Chance colors and ribbons.

We will be making 2 cards and a Matchbox die-cut easel.
Here is a close-up of the matchbox which holds 2 Hershey Miniature Candy Bars.

Isn't this darling?!
I was driving through a neighborhood this morning and saw this mama taking her not-so-little-anymore babies to the shade under this car. Boy was that cute!

Oh The Things I Get Myself Into!

This is what I have been up to this weekend! Typing, printing, laminating and cutting all the game pieces for the 'Amazing Race' type celebration for Nicholas' 5th grade class tomorrow.

Rolls and rolls of laminated cardstock to cut apart. Fortunately it was very easy to do...it just took a lot of time...stamping time that is, but I'm almost over it now! :)

All 50 states freshly laminated!

There are 18 game 'stations' here. Each game has an instruction sheet and 30 'go to the next destination' cards or whatever they are called...

Edited to Add: Hi everyone! I am receiving all the e-mails asking for information on the games and how it all works. I'll get back to you all this weekend. Thank you!!
Edited to Add 6/13/10 Thank you for your response this fun project. I've responded to the requests received up until this day, and will no longer be sharing the information. I simply do not have time to respond to individual e-mails.

Now on to something fun!

Look at this darling Purse-onally Perfect Purse and Notes class Sara Rimmelzwaan taught using Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper and Vintage Vogue stamp set. Great job Sara and I'm so glad you sent me a picture!!
