Box of Cupcakes

I'd rather have a real box of cupcakes, but if I was handed this box I'd be fine with that too!
I received my pre-order shipment of new Stampin' Up! products and have been doing a little playing around. I gotta tell you...and believe me, I will always tell you... I'm really not fond of these new colors! I'm a good team player though so I'm sure you will see me use them from time to time...as soon as I get some bifocal sunglasses so I can see and tone down these BRIGHT colors!
Today's project uses the new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. It's designed to go with the new In Colors. However, I gotta ease into this you know, so I made due with core Stampin' Up! colors. It seems to match just fine which is a great thing about Stampin' Up! They are very aware that everyone can't invest in new In Colors just to use the new DSP's. Kudos to Stampin' Up! for that!

I made a standard A2 card box and lid to fit cards sized 4-1/4" x 5-1/5" using the Simple Birthday Thanks stamp set. It holds 6-8 embellished cards and envelopes perfectly.

The box base is 10" x 8-1/2" of Pink Passion cardstock. Score at 2" on all 4 sides. Cut on the score lines up to the intersecting lines on 2 sides and trim corners off at an angle like I've done in the photo.

Box lid is 6-5/8" x 8-1/8" of Pink Passion cardstock. Score at 1" on all 4 sides. Cut on the score lines up to the intersecting lines on 2 sides and trim corners off at an angle like I've done in this very blurry photo.

Before we go on, I want to show you what I did to my Simple Birthday Thanks stamp. I love this cupcake, but my kids are too big to use it with these words in the center of the cupcake...so I took an X-acto knife and carefully cut that part out. Now, it's a perfect stamp! Sometimes you have to alter things to fit your needs, right?

Stamp on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut it out to use as a template for the lid.

Lay the template on top of the lid at desired angle. Trace around it with a pencil. Poke a hole in the center and hand cut out with scissors.Fold on score lines, assemble the box lid and box bottom. Cut a piece of transparency paper, over head projector paper, window sheets, anything that is see-thru to fit on the inside of the box. Secure with adhesive.

I added strips of DSP to the box bottom. Two strips of 1-3/4" x 5-3/4" and two strips of 1-3/4" x 4-1/4".

Put the cards in the box so that the cupcake shows through. I angled my cut-out to mimic the same angle as the cards. As you can see in the very top photo, I added a strip of Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon around the box adhering it with Sticky Strip.
Top left: Cardstock is Rich Razzleberry base with Rich Razzleberry cupcake.
Top right: Cardstock is So Saffron base with Pink Passion cupcake.
Bottom left: Cardstock is So Saffron with So Saffron cupcake
Bottom right: Cardstock is Rich Razzleberry with Pale Plum cupcake.
Stamp Sets: Simple Birthday Thanks, Oval All
Accessories: Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon turned backwards for the beautiful pink solid sheen. It matches the Pink Passion perfectly! Build A Brad with solid 1/2" circle cardstocks, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Natural Hemp Twine for cherry tops, 1/4" Circle Punch for cupcake confetti. Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and Two Way Glue Pen. All backgrounds and cupcake papers are DSP from the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (designer series paper...duh!)
Have fun creating your own stationary box!

Ready For The New Catalog?

I'm ready! I can't wait to place an order...I've already warned my family they won't be eating for a while because this one is going to cost a pretty penny!! I'm up to almost $300 in just accessories so far. I love the new die cuts, I love the new ribbons, I love {some} of the new papers and that doesn't even include any stamp sets...yet ☺ Don't worry, I'll get there!

These are gum packets to include with each new catalog. I was planning an Open House but my Nicholas made the All Stars team in baseball and we don't have a single weekend free the whole month of July! I'll be sending out an e-mail to my customers and stamp club girls letting them know when they can come by to pick up their own copy. I'm expecting my shipment of catalogs this week!!!
Edited To Add:
You guys crack me up! I've had 22 e-mails wanting to know how I made this plus a couple comments have asked too.
Guys...I just traced the gum wrapper ☺ Easy peasy!!!
The photo shows the brand of gum I used, I literally traced the wrapper. If you want to get technical, the measurements are as follows but I will tell you that each pack of gum is ever-so-slightly different.
Cut cardstock to 4" x 5-3/4". Score at 2-1/2", 2-3/4", 5-1/4" and 5-1/2". That leaves you about a 1/4" flap to adhesive the thing closed. I used my 1" Circle Punch to make a half circle on one end. I stamped the 'for you' on cardstock and punched it out with the Round Tab Punch. Fold it in half and trim the rounded part off with scissors. The colors I used for this project are Tempting Turquoise, Ruby Red, so Saffron and Whisper White. The stamp set is the new 2nd Level Hostess Set called The More The Merrier.

Giant Chinese Take Out Box

I found a giant Chinese take out box in the gift wrapping section of Pier 1 Imports. It was so ugly man, it looked like a psychedelic bandanna scarf...but I thought it would make a great pattern!! I bought it, took it home and tore it apart and it was one of the easiest things I've ever made!
This thing is BIG! It holds at least 3 t-shirts rolled up.
It measures 7" x 5" x 5-1/2" tall.

The tag is made using All Holiday and Tool Time stamp sets and the box is made of To The Nines DSP.

June's Stamp Club Projects

Projects for June Stamp Club show the versatility of the Big Shot and the Top Note die-cut. We will be making a card, a gift card/money holder, a box and an accordion file all using Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Top Note die cut.

Inside of the box...perfect for a graham cracker, Hershey bar and a couple marshmallows.

Accordion file purse uses the gift note size envelopes.
I got this idea from Sara Letourneau. She said her tutorial for this project will be posted in October on the Resources page at Splitcoast Stampers.

Inside of the gift card/money holder card. No girls, the $20 isn't included ☺

_______

You know how much I love the Under The Stars Stamp Set and see what Kelly Robinson made with the Valentine's Box tutorial. It's so cute!
Her daughter gave it to her teacher on the last day of school.

And last but not least, one of my downline, Kathy Orta has a new blog! Check it out here and tell her I sent you!

Flying A Smores Kite

Oh my, the joys of summer are underway! It's day #3 of summer vacation and already the water balloons are in a time out!
First Nicholas and his friends were filling the balloons with a little bit of water so they are super bouncy and throwing then up on the roof and catching them. It was all fun till over half of them ended up in the rain gutters! A ladder, a hose, a mad mother and 2 hours later all was well...till yesterday.
This winter they made snow balls and put them in the garage freezer then had a fantastic snowball fight the first day of summer. That was so much fun they decided to fill enormous water balloons and put them in the freezer...not knowing they will expand and break before they freeze. Luckily they started breaking when the first ..oh, 25 or so went into the freezer...and guess who got to clean up the huge amounts of water flooding my freezer and rolling out and into the refrigerator below while the boys ran away to escape the wrath!! Thank goodness it was the garage floor that took the brunt of the water, not my kitchen floor. But alas, we all survived another day of summer vacation! Gotta love boys!
And you wonder why I can't get any stamping done??

I'm running out of things to have this bear 'do', so I decided flying a Smores kite would be fun!

Stamp Set: Under The Stars

And speaking of the Purse...

Look what Sue from Sues' Stampin' Design did! She was the first one to get the Purse-onally Perfect Notes finished and back to me! Beautiful Sue, great job!

Also, I've been awarded the Lemonade Stand for Blogging from Betty at Betty's Stamp N Stuff. Thank you!

And finally, this is a photo of one of the teachers gifts I've made this week. I'll share the others in the upcoming days.

Paper Crafts has a magazine out now called 225 Cards & Gifts. It has the pattern for this adorable apple gift card holder inside. I improvised with what I had and made one for Nicholas' teacher. It was so easy☺
