Fashionable Favorites Christmas Purses

Today marks the end of a long love affair with making teacher gifts for Christmas and end of school year.  I've been doing this for 17 years! 

With Nicholas being a Sr. this year, he delivered the last Christmas gifts today to teachers.  That's it for me unless university professors like gifts. *Ü*

 

 

He has 6 female teachers and one male this semester.  I was thrilled when he came home with that schedule the first day of school because typically he has 5-6 male teachers and only 1-2 women.  Purses are far more fun to make and give than male teacher gifts, although I love those too.

I used one of the purses in my Fashionable Favorites tutorial.  I made them red for Christmas and hung the adorable moose on a ball keychain - but it can be removed and then the purse has no Christmas feel to it at all. The piece in the pocket is a tiny little card from Nicholas to each teacher.

Santa's Sleigh Mini Pocket Book

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw this project last week in a short video.  Today I'm posting it page by page here so you can see better detail.

 

The basic construction of the book can be found in my Mini Pocket Book Tutorial available on the right hand side bar or the tutorials page of this blog.  It is created in completely different papers, but the book is identical.

 

 

Cardstock:  Candy Cane Lane Designer Series paper, Whisper White, Real Red, Garden Green, Basic Black, Silver Foil Paper, Crumb Cake

Stamp Set:  Santa's Sleigh, Tin of Tags, Oh What Fun, Merriest Wishes, Jolly Friends

Accessories: 1", 1-1/4", 1-3/8", 1-3/4" and 2" Circle Punches, Paper Doilies, Holly Berry Builder Punch,  Jolly Hat Builder Punch, Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Real Red Satin Ribbon

 

Removable little booklet in the pocket

Different look at the booklet - made with computer paper.  Booklet cover is 4-1/2" x 3-1/2".  Pages are 4-1/4" x 3-1/4".  Fold in half and staple at the spine.

 

This is a great little book for giving gift cards - see this example from a few years ago.

Christmas Pines Baggie Toppers

This project is made just like the one I showed you last, only I used the Ovals Collection Framelits instead of the Circles Collection Framelits. 

 

 

I embossed one of our Glassine Bags with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  What a cool look it gave the bag!

 

Here are the basic instructions again, but remember I switched the circles for ovals on this one.  The bag is 4-3/4" wide, so I made the topper 5" wide.

Jolly Friends Baggie Toppers

I have something super cute to share with you today!  Check out these little baggie toppers for our 3 x 6 Gusseted Cellophane Bags.

 

 

I love a new creative find and this one is inspired by Valerie Moody.  Thanks Val!

 

You can cut them with a curvy angle.

 

Or you can cut them straight across and round the corners.
