Thank YOU!

I'd like to start my return by saying thank you.

Thank you to my dear blog friends who left comments and sent an e-mail or card offering condolences.  You warm my heart.  It's been one week today since my dad passed.  We had a beautiful funeral and I got to see people I hadn't seen in years.  My dad was a huge outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, archery, etc.  In tribute to him,  the sons-in-law, grandchildren and casket bearers all wore camouflage tuxedo vests.

It was a beautiful sunny day, 68 degrees with no wind on October 1st.  Exactly the kind of day you would want for a service.
My heart is broken, we were so close.  I feel like I lost my daddy and my best friend all in one day.  I'm slowly getting back to work and that is exactly what I need.

October 7-21

  2. My heart bleeds for you Becky. I lost my beloved husband of 52 years in June from a sudden heart attack. My two daughters feel just like you, they lost their Daddy. Getting back to work helps you heal faster and that is what your Dad would be telling you to do. I love your blog and have missed you. God bless you and may your Dad rest in peace.

  4. I love the family photo and how cool are those camo vest!? My husband's uncle pasted away over a year ago and his casket was done in camouflage. We are hunters and camo is a part of it! Welcome back Becky and may your pain soften in time. They say time heals everything but you never completely get over losing a loved one. You and your family are in my prayers. God Bless!

  5. Becky what a wonderful picture of your family. Your boys are no longer boys - they are handsome young men. My goodness they've grown up. My heart hurts for you dear friend. Luckily your boys will also have some great memories of him. Love the vests. That was very cool to do that. Happy you're back and I hope your days get easier. Sending much love ~ Susan

  6. My dad died on Sept. 17. He was 98 years old and I was always "daddy's girl". I am so thankful for all the time we had together but I miss him so much! May God comfort us both as we grieve.

  12. Love the family photo and what a tribute! The vests were so appropriate. Time does heal all wounds. The only problem is that it takes time. I was actually shocked that you had posted on your blog again, already! Good to see you back. You're in my thoughts and prayers!

  14. So sorry to hear of your loss. I too know what it's like to lose a father. Only I lost my dad three times. One when my mother had divorce papers served to him, I was age 9. The second time when he told me he had prostate cancer and had it for so long that it was already in his bones and there was nothing the doctors could do for him. The last and final time was the day before Mother's Day six years ago when he took his last mortal breath at age 70. God is gathering his armies home! Keep his memories close to your heart, it helps as time passes. Super big (((hugs))) to you and your family. And, by the way, LOVE the vests. Great idea to give tribute to your dad.
