Thank You For Caring

This weekend I set out to write all the thank you notes for my mom's funeral.  The list is long and frankly it is just a little overwhelming, so I went to the store and bought some pre-made thank you/sympathy notes.  I came home, thought about it, and just could not get motivated...so I went upstairs and stamped a while and low and behold I made the thank you notes myself.  I think it was a little therapeutic...imagine that - stamping as therapy??  LOL!
Not only did I get them made, I actually got them all sent out - what a HUGE relief off my shoulders.  I was not looking forward to that task again so soon after I had completed all my dads.  Done!  I feel like a new woman!

I vowed a couple of years ago to put Lovely As A Tree away and never use that set again, but dang it...it's perfect for things like this!  Now it will probably NEVER retire!  Mom's funeral was in the snow and she loves pine trees so this was just perfect.

I can only imagine your pain and loss over losing both of your parents so close together. My heart goes out to you and your family! 7. My heart goes out to you and your family for the loss of both parents so closely together. Such a blow... I do think stamping is therapy. One of the main reasons I became a demonstrator was to have something else to focus on and lose myself in after the death of my Dad. It sure worked...

  8. Stunning! I have actually been wanting to buy this set! What a perfect card! I am sure your Mom's "buttons would have been busting" to know that you are pressing on through your tears doing what you love for the ones that you love.

  11. Becky I did the same thing last summer when my husband died. I went to the store and bought 60 thank you cards, but the more I looked at them the more I thought they just didn't feel like me. I slowly started making cards and more cards and before I knew it I had then all made and mailed. It made me feel so close to my husband because he always loved looking at my cards and telling me how much he loved them. Your card is so beautiful. I know your Mom has a big smile on her face knowing you did something special for her.

  12. Becky-you did a beautiful job! I couldn't do this when my late husband died-most people were local-so I did a display ad in our local paper and just mailed the out of town thank yous. I did cards for my father in law's passing as mother in law was not able and, three months later, uI enlisted my bf help to produce thank you's for hers... I suggest a hot bath, a good book, and a glass of something with an umbrella in it....or do some stamping just for fun... Thoughts and prayers for the days ahead....

Hang on to all the wonderful memories of your parents. Prayers for you and your family as you find a "new normal" until you see your loved ones again. :)

  16. love the way the dots resemble snow when coupled with the tree and also how you showcased the tree with the die cut.
Though we know the day will come it is never easy. May the Lord lift your sadness as you remember the blessed years you had together.
