Best.Day.Ever. Bokeh Technique

What a fun new technique this is.  I'm sure you've seen this Bokeh technique popping up all over the stamping world lately.  It's been around forever in photography, and I love that someone figured out how to do it on paper!

Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Stamp Set:  Best.Day.Ever (free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration!)
Accessories:  Butterfly Framelits, Scallop Tag topper Punch, Pink Pirouette Cotton 1/4" Ribbon, Gold Baker's Twine, Sponge Daubers,  Stampin' Sponges, Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Big Shot

I started with Very Vanilla cardstock and sponged Pink Pirouette ink randomly all over the paper.

Next I sponged here and there with Rose Red ink.

I used a piece of Window Sheet to punch three size of circle to make a template.

Very lightly, using a sponge dauber, dab White Craft ink onto the cardstock with the template.

We're getting there!

The last step is to use the sponge dauber and a pretty heavy amount of ink straight onto the paper without the template to create bight highlights.

Super easy!!  I stamped the Best.Day.Ever stamp on these.  It did take a while to dry, I'm not sure how long, I just left them overnight.

  1. Great-looking bokeh tag! I've never seen it done like this but I like the result better than any other I've tried. THANKS for the tutorial, Becky! :)
