I love this owl punch! He is so easy to punch and easy to assemble. My first project with him is a matchbook that holds 3x3 cards. I haven't decided if this is one of the things I may use for convention, so I'm not giving out any measurements just yet.

Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Play Date DSP
Accessories: Owl Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Tiny Tag Punch, 1/8" Early Espresso Ribbon

July Stamp Clubs Purse-onally Purse

This month for stamp clubs we made the Purse-onally Perfect Purse. I've had so many demonstrators write to ask me how long does it take to teach this as a class, how do you set it up, how many people can you teach at a time, etc. that I decided to take some pictures of how I do it.

Thursday night I took pictures of the finished projects to show you a few. For the two clubs I cut 20 purses and 20 sets of 4 note cards. It took us about 2 hours to complete at each class with plenty of visiting in between. This class was all designed around the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.

Didn't they turn out great??!!
__
Friday night club was at my house. Not all the supplies fit on the tables, so to give them more room to assemble their projects, I set up stations.

I set up a central stamping station for the note cards in the kitchen. When I have several steps to a project, I always try to set up some instructions for them to follow.

Sunglasses Station where they cut out their pattern and traced it onto cardstock to complete their sunglasses.

Flower station is where they punched out the flowers for the pocket on the front of the purse.

Buckle station is where they punched for the buckles and picked up the brads for their purse straps.
_____
Both evenings went very smoothly with having stations and directions to follow as they work independently. We completed 20 gorgeous purses over the two evenings! So much fun!!

So Much New Things!!!!

Lookie what the UPS man brought yesterday...oooooh, so much new things to play with!! I know that isn't grammatically correct but that's what my kids used to say and it stuck with me! I have to look at it for a couple days and process it all before I can use it, so no new stuff to show today. Ü

New stamp sets, new ribbons, new brads, a couple pads and reinkiers, new punches, new Designer Series Paper (all of the ones I ordered are absolutely wonderful. I didn't find a single page I wouldn't use!!), new cork sheets, new magnet sheets, new rhinestones, new pearls, oh my!!!

New packaging on single Stampin' Write Markers and new packaging on the brads...no more compartments to separate the colors. OOOh, I don't like that Stampin' Up!, that's messy!!! But the new brad colors are fabulous!
Clear Mount stamp sets that have lots of pieces come in 2 cases. They will probably all fit in one when mounted, we'll see.

Another shipment of new catalogs...that poor UPS man probably has a backache after visiting my house!

A couple cards I took photos of from the downline meeting. Mandee used my little purse that I used for Leadership swaps, turned it into a tag, then into a card. Very cute!!
Jennifer and her Build-A-Bear cards are so darling. Love the way she connected the balloon and that punch! Good goin' girl!

More Vacation Photos and New Handbags

The first thing we did when we came across the Golden Gate Bridge is head to the zoo. It has been three long years since I've seen my animals and I was anxious to visit them again. We've been zoo members forever and went frequently, so that was something I was really missing. I knew the Gorilla had a new baby and it was so cute to see him playing out there. He was actually swinging around and around his mamas leg, but this photo looks kind of... weird. Ü He was doing summer salts and jumping and showing off for everyone!

The bears were in rare form too. They were playing in the water with a red ball. Then they lost the ball and just started wrestling. If you hadn't been there for the playing part it would have been kind of scary to see, but they weren't interested in eating anybody...that day!

Zebra wasn't interested in talking to me, he wouldn't even turn around...and he knew it was me standing there. Probably mad cuz I moved away!
This picture is for you BFF! Ü

The boys at Union Square.
Silver man was still at the wharf doing his robot thing. It's really quite impressive and he loves to have his pictures taken...for a price! :)

Then there was this sign George made me put my face in. But I decided to show you because it fits right in with the new promotion for past demonstrators to rejoin. Come on, you can do it! For just $35 you can rejoin Stampin' Up!

Another set of Tres Chic Handbags. I just love these!! They are so easy and quick to make. And for a little clarification, the handbags are small and I describe them as gift card size. However the handbag isn't gift card size, the box inside the handbag is. The handbags are about card front size before handles...still quite small in comparison to the other purses I've done. In the tutorial, the patterns can be reduced or enlarged to fit your needs.

Icing On The Cupcake!

Before we left for California, our baker son Benjamin informed me that he was a fan of the Face Book page, Icing On The Cupcake and while we were in Roseville he wanted to go see them. How he finds these things, I don't know but if there is a cake shop within 20 miles of anywhere we travel, he knows about it!
So...when I was talking to Suzie, my upline in Roseville, I was telling her we had to find this cupcake shop. She said the cupcake girls are stamping customers of hers and they would be at her class Tuesday night while we were in Roseville...what a small world!
We rolled into town about 5 pm, quickly got something to eat, dropped the guys off at the motel, changes clothes and I headed over to Suzie's to crash her class. Low and behold, Miss Suzie had told the cupcake ladies of our story and Head Cupcake, Shirley, had a goodie bag for Benjamin!!! I wish he had gone with me, but after 10-1/2 hours in the car, he chose swimming rather than following me to the class...can't blame him.
I got to meet Shirley, Jackie and Kristina, just a few of the Cupcake Crew and stamp with them a bit...man are they serious stampers!! I thoroughly enjoyed my short time with them, and if I was still in Roseville, I would steal them from Suzie...just sayin'...
When I returned to our motel, I walked in with the loot and Benjamin about passed out! There was a t-shirt, a dozen mini red velvet cupcakes and a half dozen of assorted full size cupcakes all wrapped up and packaged DARLING!! You know how we stampers our packaging!

We immediately had to have a sample platter of all the cupcakes, right?? To die for delicious! I've eaten a lot of cupcakes and cupcake shops are everywhere...well let me tell you, not all cupcakes are created equal! These are fabulous. If you are in the Roseville/Rocklin area, check out Icing on The Cupcake. They are also opening a store in Folsom and Sacramento soon!
We went to the cupcake store the next day and I bought cupcakes for my downline meeting, one to eat that night and one to take home in THE most darling little to-go boxes they provided, and I didn't even take a single picture! Dang me!
Shirley, thank you for your generosity and caring heart in making my little boy SO happy! I immediately whipped you up a cupcake card and put it in the mail! You're the best!!
