A Surprise Hot Air Balloon Ride!

My husband and boys planned a little surprise birthday hot air balloon ride for Saturday.  It was a beautiful day for it!

We arrived just before 8 am and got to help them set up.  Connecting the balloon to the basket.

Inflating the balloon first with a huge fan...

and then propane...that was a little scary!

Climbing in - all aboard.

And we're off!

Over Boise we go.  Seeing the changing leaves from above was spectacular.

Over the corn fields.

Passing another balloon.

Over the Eagle River and a beautiful neighborhood with wide streets...perfect for landing.

And that is exactly what we did after about a hour and half, landed in a neighborhood.  Boy did we draw a crowd! *Ü*

We climbed out and helped to deflate the balloon.

We tied it up and put it in the big envelope bag.

Then loaded the truck after the flight crew arrived. and they gave us a ride back to our car.  Our pilot Greg was amazing, definitely not his first flight (thank goodness!).  What a beautiful day and a very fun surprise!

Washi Tape Fun!

I love all this Washi Tape we carry and I collect it all in duplicate and triplicate...but I really don't know what to do with it. LOL.  Don't tell me you don't have products like that too! * Ü*

131269 Epic Day This And That Designer Washi Tape $4.95

So, I went searching for a little inspiration on Stampin' Connections (our demonstrator only share site). I like the Washi Tape controlled on the panel instead of the stray edges that is typical of Washi Tape projects.  I placed it diagonally across a piece of Whisper White cardstock then trimmed it to size.

Thanks Kimberly Van Diepen for the inspiration.

Cardstock:  Basic Gray, Smokey Slate

Stamp Set:  Simply Stars, Really Good Greetings

Accessories:  Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Brights Buttons, Whisper White Baker's Twine, White Embossing powder, Heat Tool, Corner Rounder

Many of you have asked if I will be releasing a 12 Days of Christmas tutorial this year.  The answer is YES!!  I usually start the previews on October 1st, but with the travel then passing of my dad, I'm a few weeks behind...working madly to catch up...and the previews of the 12 Days will start on Tuesday, October 15th.

Are you ready for some fun projects???  I can't wait to show you!

Founder's Circle 2013

I have some pictures to share with you from my trip to Founder's Circle a few weeks ago.

Stampin' Up!'s top 100 demonstrators....let the pampering begin!

Our opening dinner was so beautiful with gifts at each place setting.

Even a little appearance from Shelli!

Shelli could not be there at this retreat, so Diana Gibbs brought a Flat Shelli...you know what that is, right?

The relaxing Gathering Place where we could sit and visit with other demonstrators, do our make n takes and eat all the candy we wanted!

There was NO shortage of candy, that's for sure.

And the most darling Trail Mix Bar with canning jars to fill and take with you.

Every night there was an amazing pillow gift.  This is the charm that was our last night's gift.  Last year we received the bracelet and each year we will get a new charm.

Here's a look at all the fabulous gifts and stuff we received.  I'm truly, truly blessed to be included in this fine group of demonstrators and thank you Stampin' Up! for an amazing retreat!

I've got more pictures to share another time. *Ü*

Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Kit

Here's a little twist on the Goodie Gear Kit in the Holiday Catalog.  I love the tags and the bag size but didn't really want them quite as simplistic and basic as the kit provides.  So for my stamp club, we used the main pieces in the kit and added a few other supplies to jazz them up a bit.

Toile & Trouble Stamp Set

 131727 Clear Mount $16.95

131724 Wood Mount $22.95

Tags 4 You Bundle

133294 Clear Mount $26.95

133293 Wood Mount $30.95

3/4" Circle Punch

1" Circle Punch

132792  Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Kit $4.95

Kit includes elements to make 10 goodie bags: die-cut Kraft tags; printed, die-cut banners; stickers; Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine. Also includes 3" x 5" Cellophane Bags. Tag size: 1-5/8" x 2-1/2".

Thank YOU!

I'd like to start my return by saying thank you.

Thank you to my dear blog friends who left comments and sent an e-mail or card offering condolences.  You warm my heart.  It's been one week today since my dad passed.  We had a beautiful funeral and I got to see people I hadn't seen in years.  My dad was a huge outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, archery, etc.  In tribute to him,  the sons-in-law, grandchildren and casket bearers all wore camouflage tuxedo vests.

It was a beautiful sunny day, 68 degrees with no wind on October 1st.  Exactly the kind of day you would want for a service.

My heart is broken, we were so close.  I feel like I lost my daddy and my best friend all in one day.  I'm slowly getting back to work and that is exactly what I need.
