Star Punch Wreath and MDS Help!

This card was for an assignment I was given and clearly not in MY colors! :) It actually does not photograph the colors as they are in real life and looks rather pale, but the star punch wreath is kind of cool!!

I started with a piece of Old Olive cardstock. I wadded it up in a ball and abused it well for several seconds then unfolded it and punched stars with the Small Star Punch. Arrange in a wreath shape or even a garland, ooh...I better try that too! It was so easy!

Cardstock: Barely Banana, Old Olive, Kraft, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Stamp Set: Four the Holidays
Accessories: Top Note die-cut, Big Shot (you need this!), Scalloped Edge Punch, Star Punch, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Pretties Kit

Now, let's talk about My Digital Studio. Have you ever tried a Digital Scrapbooking Program? I have never tried it or been interested in it before. I like my paper and stamps and ink and all the toys I have invested in for 8 years!

However.....it's growing on me! Part of my problem is that I am just not familiar with it and I hate new things! As demonstrators we have the opportunity to have online training videos through Stampin' Up! in order to become Certified and be more knowledgeable for our customers. I think our customers are kind of left out of the training on this until we finish our certification.
Well guess what?? My friend Connie Collins and fellow Catty Cruise shipmate has developed a video for the REAL BEGINNER to My Digital Studio. It is a very simplistic video done in real-time (23 minutes long) on getting stared with My Digital Studio. She walks us through step by step on what is in the program, how it works and then creates a basic, simple greeting card. I found it very helpful. I am very My Digital Studio impaired and I could follow along with her! :)
Let her know what you think and if you would like to see more videos.

  2. Hello, Inking I! LOVE this wreath - it is so clever and you did such a FANTASTIC job creating your wreath! I donate cards to Operation Write Home at http://operationwritehome.org and this would be a wonderful card to make for our soldiers! Thanks for starting out my day in California with a BIG smile :-)

  4. Great card, Becky. But I really want to thank you for the link to Connie's video. I have difficulty navigating through various software, and this is a help to me. I'm going to attempt a card on my own MDS now.

  5. I LOVE this card! You always make my wish list GROW!! Well, I guess it is better than my waist. LOL I have got to get the star punches now! Hmmm... would it be pretty if I used the 5 petal punch? I am going to have to try it and see. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

I love MDS! I'm computer savvy, so it is a BREEZE! Think about it like a blog that you are trying to manipulate. Click the thing to choose photos, then click the thing for stamps, etc. I hope you continue to enjoy it.
