Nicholas' 3 Day Birthday Celebration!

My baby is insisting on turning 14 today!  I'm not very happy but not much I can do except be so proud of the young man he is growing up to be!  He is a kind, caring, responsible and intelligent young man.  Who could ask for more?  *Ü*

Saturday he had his party with the 'guys'.  I'm not technically supposed to say party because he's too cool and old for that.  So Saturday the guys hung out for three hours at Big Al's bowling, playing video games, eating pizza and ice cream and having a great time - but it wasn't a party!  :)

But he did want to have party favors much to his mother's delight.  I use this idea for the bottle caps found on the SU! blog.  Stamp the Alphabet, punch with a 1" Circle Punch, glue to the bottom of the bottle cap.  Let dry.  Mix about 2 drops of Crumb Cake reinker with a little bit of Crystal Effects and brush on the top.  Mine look really streaky and full of brush marks in the photo but they didn't look that way in person.  Glue to a cloths pin painted black.  SU! put a magnet on the back of theirs, but I did not.

What do you give a group of 14 year olds?  Candy and XBOX points!

Sunday he chose to have lunch at Chipotle - his most favorite place.

And even tho it was windy and chilly, one must never mess up the 'do'.  Believe me, as much hairspray as this kid uses, it will never go flat!

Today is finally his birthday, so tonight we will have cake and presents.  Then do it all again in 5 weeks when the other one insists on turning 17...just kill me now! *Ü*

  1. Sounds familiar.. My son just turned 14 in December and it was the same thing.. Having a 'party' just isn't cool anymore. Your little packages for the boys look great though!

  7. Aweee poor Becky :( lol. My eldest turned 12 this past December and it's not easy watching them grow up but you get to be so proud of who they are becoming and knowing you had a part of that :) A BIG part (and my daughter, who is in junior high even, still needs momma to make class favours :) YAY! Though once she's in high school with 4 different classes and kids- no thank YOU! lol)
