Suitcase and Floral Photo Prop

I made this small paper suitcase to use as a photo prop for some things I was working on.  I used the bottom suitcase from the Traveling Trio tutorial and just reduced the size.  I may be updating that tutorial to include this size because it is perfect for a set of four cards. ;-)

The flowers are just sitting on the top, I needed to move them around for the photos, so I did not attach it.  They are made from several of my favorite floral dies that I use over and over and have listed here a hundred times - at least   but for my newer readers, I will add them again.

The rose is handmade from my own pattern.  The daisy is made with the Bundle of Flowers die.

The greenery is from the Timeless Foliage die at Spellbinders.

The little metal handle on the suitcase was from Hobby Lobby and is their store brand.

The pure white flower is made from Layered Blooms die that is a Spellbinders die, but them seem to be out of it so I linked it to Amazon.

Paper Flowers in a Cup!

Here's a fun gifty idea for you.
We have so many, many flower dies in the crafty world, how about making a floral arrangement in a cup!    It takes a little bit of effort but well worth it if you ask me...and I should know. *Ü*
Actually it takes longer to choose the color and cut the flowers than it does to make them and that is the truth.

I made this arrangement for my tiered tray.  I have lots of neutrals and blush pinks in my house, so that is what I chose for this one.  I made it to fit on any Rae Dunn cup.

The roses are hand cut from my own pattern.  The daisy is from the Sizzix die called Bundle of Flowers, This die has so many possibilities, it is one I use all the time!

The greenery is from my favorite Timeless Foliage steel rule die.  This is on sale right now on a serious markdown.  I'm not sure if it is going away or not.

The yellow flower with dark gray center is from Layered Blooms steel rule die.  This is a Spellbinders die, but they seem to be out of stock, so I linked it on Amazon.

I started with a circle made from chipboard sized a little bit larger than the cup.  I glued down some foliage  I angled the flowers and hot glued them holding until they were set in place.  Once all the flowers were on, I added a bit more greenery.  I cut the center out of styrofoam ball and glued it to the bottom so it would not slide off the cup.

What do you think?  Would you try this?  Tag me on Instagram if you do, I would love to see!

Graduation Paper Flower Corsage

I had the opportunity to make a wrist corsage for a graduating friend.  Graduations looked so different this year, didn't they?!
One of the awesome things that has come from the social distancing issue is all the innovative ways we've come up with to continue to celebrate.  The drive by parades, meeting up in parking lots, virtual bridal showers and baby showers and connecting with friends.  We've gotten pretty creative!

When I made all the wooden scissors, I had one bouquet that I particularly loved, so I recreated it and made it a wrist corsage.  She loved it!

Below are the dies I used to make the paper flowers.
Layered Blooms (on Amazon, Spellbinders is out of stock)

Bundle of Flowers (on Amazon)

Cottage Bloom Die (Spellbinders)

Timeless Foliage Die  (Spellbinders)

Paper Flower Bouquet Refresh

It was time to freshen up my paper flower bouquet.  I had borrowed a couple for a few gift packaging projects and it was looking a little bare. Plus I bought a couple new dies at the Idaho Scrapbook Show and wanted to play with them.

The Bundle of Flowers die makes the daisy.
The tulips are Sizzix Thinlits 664390 dies.
The roses are made with Sizzix Thinlits 663687 dies.
The ivory flower is made with the Layered Blooms die (it is on sale!) and also available on Amazon, here.

The peony looking flower is also made with this die set.

For shaping the perfect paper flowers, I use this Accessory Paper Sculpting Kit.

Paper Flower Breadboards

When I went to Creativation in January, I needed to take a couple of fun gifts to some special people.  I decided to make paper flowers and attach them to these little breadboards I had cut for my craft show.

This one in the pretty aqua blues was for Jennifer McGuire. I was meeting her for the first time, so asked around what her favorite color was. *Ü*

This one was for Nicole Peterson, the owner of Picket Fence Studios.  She loves greens.

The rose is handmade from my own pattern, but the rest of the flowers are from dies.

These were so fun to make and give. Thank you to @bearwooddesigns on Instagram for cutting my wood.
