Pumpkin Baseball 2018

When the boys were home for Thanksgiving we played our annual game of pumpkin baseball with the left over pumpkins from decorating.  They are soft and squishy and make the best splatters by then.  *Ü*

Inspecting the bat and deciding who is going first.  For all these years we are still using Nicholas' little league bat!

 Ben is up first.  This is Daphne's first pumpkin baseball game and she didn't quite know what to make of it!

 Daphne was going to catch that 'ball' and take it at all cost.

I love their faces when that pumpkin splats all over them!

I wish I could have caught this photo a couple second later because when Daphne saw that thing explode, she halted to the point she almost backed up!  It was hilarious!

He had several good splats!

 Notice Daphne isn't coming near that thing anymore!

Next up is Nicholas.  Dad is pitching but stays a safe distance away from the splatter.  He still gets it though!

 Again!

And again...notice the dog actually is pretty smart and stayed back!

And again!  She will check it out now...looks safe. 

Dad's up next and he hit one .  He had back surgery in August and wasn't sure if he was going to be able to do it.  

 No problem, he smashed it to smithereens!

 I got in the action too but my pinch hitting photographer failed to get the fantastic smash.  He's fired!

Paper Flower Wrist Corsages and Boxes

I made Christmas paper flower wrist corsages for some very special ladies I meet with every Thursday for ASL.  

I hope the beautiful flowers on their wrists aren't too distracting to the sign language. *Ü*

You guys know how much I love creating paper flowers.  They are so fun and surprisingly easy.  I have my Paper Flower Class still available, thank you for making it so popular.  It is something I will keep in stock all the time.

I used the Bloom Creator Die for the vanilla colored flowers, rolled the Candy Apple red flowers and trimmed with the Fringe Scissors and added pine springs from the Branch & Cone die set.  I filled it in with real pine comes and tulle with pearls.

I added felt to the underside so nothing could be rough or scratchy since it is just paper.

Of course you have to box it just as pretty, right?  I built boxes for each one with Candy Apple red cardstock and trimmed it with Cozy Prints Patterned Paper.  I cut a square in the center of the lid and added Window Sheet so they can peek through.

The box bottom is 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 2" on all four sides.  The box lid is 6-5/8" x 6-5/8" and scored at 1" on all four sides.

I tied them up with Special Day Organza Ribbon and the Die D-Lites Santa from Spellbinders.

Paper Slippers Gift Bag Card Die

This bag die is called the Gift Bag Card Die by Honey Bee Stamps.  It is made to hold a full size card - NOT gift card size and comes complete with the die that makes the tissue paper for stuffing and tags for hanging.  

You cut two pieces for the bag and glue them together, one piece for the tissue paper and choose a tag. 

The pattern for the paper slippers can be found in my 12 Days of Christmas 2012 edition tutorial available on the tutorials page of this blog.

I used the FSJ Cozy Prints patterned paper and Candy Apple Satin Ribbon for the handles.  I cut Candy Apple and Black Licorice Circles, a snowflake by The Stamp Market and then added the slippers.  The tiny snowman are from the FSJ stamp set, Winter Build a Scene. I added Journey Glaze to the snowman to make them shiny.

This bag is going to be making a lot of appearances on my blog, it's perfect for delivering birthday cards and Valentines.  I love this die!

Look how cute that tissue paper is.  I cut one in Vellum cardstock and one in White Mulberry paper.  The Mulberry is by far the most real looking yet sturdy enough to stand up.  The die has little stitches in it to make it defined...dang cute and awesome engineering on this die!

Gnome For The Holidays Paper Fan Ornaments

Edited to add:  The Gnome set is back in stock!!

I love to make ornaments as gifts.  This year I made a several using the idea from my friend Chelsea with the gnomes and the domes.

The domes are from Michaels and come two in a pack because if you put them together they make a ball. I'm only using one half for these ornaments.

 I think the Gnomes for the Holidays might be sold out (that might be my fault *Ü*) , but if you add your e-mail address to the 'notify me' section, they will send you an e-mail the minute they arrive.  For today, use the idea for whatever stamp set you may have that fits in here...I know you have SO MANY will work in your stash!!

The paper fan is made with Paper Fan die.  I cut three of them, trimmed them to 2" wide and glued them together for the size I wanted.

 Now, all cute things must be packaged equally as cute, right??

I added red paper shred to the bottom, inserted the ornament and tied it up!
