Ornament Punch Ornaments!

I have been thinking about these for a while now and finally got around to actually making ornaments out of the Ornament punch! Sounds like that is what it's purpose is, right?

For this ornament, I used the silver cord to thread on pearls from the Pretties Kit. The bottom pearl is tied in a knot and cut real short. Then I applied a drop of Crystal Effects to make sure it didn't come undone! I looped the top and threaded it back into the pearl. I secured the cording to the back of the ornament with Mini Glue Dots. This one is attached to the card with 2 Stampin' Dimensionals so the pearls have room to stand off the card a bit.

Cardstock: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments DSP

Stamp Set: Four the Holidays

Accessories: Ornament Punch. Silver Cord, Pretties Kit, Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Top Note die-cut, Big Shot (you need this toy!), White Embossing Powder, Whisper White Craft Pad, Heat Tool for embossing the words.

Punch 3 ornaments, fold each one in half lengthwise, and attach to each other back to back with adhesive.

Here is one without the Pretties Kit. I wanted to be able to mail some of these. They will lay flat for mailing, then the recipient can pop them back up....well all except my mom! See this post.
I was talking to her yesterday telling her I had this idea I was going to try and she asked me to send her one to see. My response was something like 'Hell NO!'. I said it with a smile though Ü...then she remembered she had been cut off and we had a good laugh.

  5. Hi Becky, I love your cards and probably will case it for my Christmas cards...LOL..but even funnier is that I read the piece about your mom!!! In my case, I am the mom, and it is my daughter who just doesn't get it!! I make her beautiful things and then find them in her house in the strangest places, i.e.,an incredibly beautiful victorian cone filled with potpouri that I found hanging on a hook on a coat rack (and not to make it smell pretty either...LOL)or how about this very difficult to make welcome sign, really gorgeous (as in I would like to take it home and hang it at my front door) and she has it hanging behind a calendar hanging on the wall (and honestly that's only 2 of many I have found) rofl...if I didn't know she loves me, I would begin to wonder. (she works in IT and swears she does not have a creative bone in her body!)...so needless to say I enjoyed your post about your mom!! Hugs, Willow

  7. Your mom post was just too funny!!!! I thought I was the only one that had PEOPLE in my life like that. I went by my husbands work the other day & one of the office ladies had gotten a beautiful SU card from her sister that lives in another state. It had a recipe in it. She took the recipe out & threw the card in the garbage w/o even looking at it. Needless to say
    I ask for it :)
    Love your idea too!!!!

  15. I love your card with the ornaments. I guess I will have to break down and buy this punch, LOL.
I also went back and read your post about your mom. I too have people who don't get what I do, they tell me they can make cards on the computer (and not with MDS). They don't get the difference. If you need me to I can be your recipient of your packages of goodies.... Have a super day and continued success.
