Kraft It Simply Halloween Treats Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of Got Treats?!
This is a 5 day blog hop between Inking Idaho and Sue, from This Pink Rooster, showcasing her new line of Kraft It Simply die cuts!
When the stay at home order was first mandated, I contacted Sue and had her send a variety of the cuts to a couple friends as a surprise 'I miss you' gift.  I have had so much fun playing with them, I want everyone to know about them!

We're both showing these as Halloween Treats, but imagine them for any occasion or holiday!

My first project is with the Small Tray Basket die cut.
It measures 2-3/4" x 4" long and is about 1-1/4" deep.  The Small Basket holds a really large palm full of candy corn as shown here.

Products Used

Small Tray Basket Die Cut (I chose the Kraft cardstock, but it is available in a few different cardstocks)
If The Hat Fits Stamp Set and Dies
A Twig (from my back yard) and Natural Jute
Cardstock - Citrus Cooler, Black Licorice and Copic Friendly Cardstock (this one is my favorite)
Heat Tool (this is the one I have)
Hot Glue Gun (this is the one I have)
Hat - W9, W7, W5 and W3
Hat Band -  E08, YR09, YR07, YR04 and YR21
Buckle - Y28, Y26, YR23 and Y21

How Did She Do This?

  1. Stamp the sentiment on Black Licorice cardstock in Versamark Ink and emboss with White Embossing Powder.  Trim into a square and layer on Citrus Cooler cardstock.
  2. Stamp the hat on Copic Friendly cardstock and color with Copic Markers.  Die Cut
  3. Measure 1" on the end of the straw and make 4 slits with scissors. (See photo)  Decide how tall you want your witch to stand in the Small Tray Basket and trim the straw. After the slit, my straw is about 4" tall.
  4. Adhere the hat to the sentiment and the sentiment to the straw.
  5. Making the broom is similar to making a tassel.  If you have never done it, you might want to find a You Tube video.  Wrap the jute around two fingers about 25 times. Tie it off, trim it and hot glue to the twig.  Hot glue the broom at an angle to the back of the sentiment piece.
  6. Add a feather to the hat for fun!
  7. Hot glue all 4 slits flat to the bottom of the Small Tray.
  8. Fill with your favorite Halloween candy.

  1. Couldn't LOVE this more, Becky! The witch's broom's and the striped edging on the tray is fabulous. And then the coloring. It's just perfect! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
